Stem Cells
Autologous Adipose Derived Stromal Vascular Fraction Adult Stem Cells have the ability to differentiate into different cell types and therefore have the potential to repair damaged cells. Eg: cartilage repair in the joint (hip and knee), repair of Myelin Sheath in Multiple Sclerosis, repairing and sustaining fat cells when transferred to fascial tissues or breast, etc…
There is no conclusive evidence however, there is great potential.
Procedure:
- Under Tumescent Anesthesia (local), Mini Liposuction is carried out and about 100ccs of fat is collected.
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is prepared from about 40ccs of the patient’s own blood.
- Adult Stem Cells are separated from the fat cells by centrifugation after activation.
- The stem cells are washed; PRP is added, and further activated.
Autologous Adipose Derived Stromal Vascular Fraction Adult Stem Cells which are separated activated and mixed with the patient’s own PRP which has growth factors, are injected into the patient in the same sitting.
